Background
The Southern Railway King Arthur class is a type of 2-cylinder 4-6-0 steam locomotive designed for the Southern Railway by Robert Urie in between 1918 and 1927. A total of 74 locomotives were built and withdrawn from service between 1953 and 1962.
The only surviving member of this class is No. 777 "Sir Lamiel", and is currently a member of the National Railway Collection.
