Background
The Great Western Railway Hall class is a type of 4-cylinder 4-6-0 steam locomotive designed for the Great Western Railway by Charles Collett between 1928 and 1943. A total of 258 locomotives were built and withdrawn from service between 1959 and 1965.
Ten members of this class are preserved to this day, and are currently members of the National Railway Collection.
