Great Western Railway 4-6-0 Castle Class

Background
The Great Western Railway Castle class is a type of 4-cylinder 4-6-0 steam locomotive designed for the Great Western Railway by Charles Collett between 1923 and 1950. A total of 171 locomotives were built and withdrawn from service between 1950 and 1965.

Eight members of this class are preserved to this day, and are currently members of the National Railway Collection.
